Who we are

Darwind was originally founded in the Netherlands as a wind turbine technology company, specializing in the design and development of megawatt-class wind turbines. In 2010, the company was acquired by XEMC Windpower Ltd. in Xiangtan, Hunan, China, and became XEMC Darwind B.V.

Over the following years, Darwind developed a broad range of wind turbine concepts and engineering solutions, with a strong focus on offshore wind and the technical challenges associated with increasingly large turbine systems and floating applications.

In mid-2024, the companies entered a new chapter. Sino Azure Wind Power China Ltd. became our parent company, while XEMC Darwind B.V. returned to its original name: Darwind B.V.

Today, Darwind combines wind turbine technology with multidisciplinary engineering expertise. We support onshore, offshore and floating wind applications through turbine design, engineering studies, structural and mechanical analysis, marine engineering and project-specific technical support.

Our work focuses on developing reliable solutions for demanding operating conditions, from fixed-bottom and floating offshore environments to other challenging climates and site conditions. By combining turbine know-how with practical engineering experience, we help clients assess concepts, solve technical challenges and move wind projects from early-stage studies toward implementation.
